Pine sap on work gear...

Maybe I read the question wrong, but I thought Donald asked about the best way to remove sap from lines, not goggles. Although the best way to remove sap from goggles would probably also be canola oil.

let it dry then roll the rope between your hands and the crystalized sap will fall off then if possible wash the rope. Or use one rope just for conifers and rotate it out of service sooner because of the sap issue...Or use a false crotch and that may help also. when climbing conifers keep your rope in a rope tube so it doesn't get dragged across the bark......For a lanyard feed the lanyard through a piece of hollow webbing when working conifers... just some thoughts on the matter thaat I use.

i've scrubbed sap off my ropes with hand cleaner, a nail brush and warm water which worked well but i'll definitely try wheelloaders rubbing alcohol tip in future. and butter works great for getting sap off skin :)
