Petzle adjustable bridge replacement rope?

So I'm using the Petzl adjustable bridge, and I am considering using a RE hydra, but there's a hiccup: According to Treestuff, the sewn eye just will not fit through the pulley, so I'm considering splicing up something myself.

Anyone know what kind of rope is used on the petzl bridge? Is it hand splicable? Anyone ever replaced it with something else and liked the functionality of it?

Thanks Richard. It's disappointing that it's not a cord that hand splices, but it is what it is I guess.

I think I'll wait until this one starts showing wear and try the adjuster on a different cordage. IDK.....might just jump the gun and cut an end to get the pully on and just tie that end on.

Funny, I was just writing to tell you I put your project in a box and will mail in the AM.
Thanks for the practice. I have a ways to go on this kind of sewing but it is solid, just does not look as well as I would have liked. I put some fabric paint over the outside to smooth over the stitches.

Thank you for the extra effort! I'm not overly worried about the aesthetics. Functionality is king in my book. Was there enough material in the box to make it worth your time?

I'll post up pics when I get back home (another week) for those of y'all who just can't seem to find suspenders that you like. I have no idea why it's so hard for me to be satisfied with suspenders.....outside of the stock TM suspenders.....those are just bad.
