Petzl Zig Zag - Latest Version

...Moreover, I had good conversations in Hartford with serious, careful Petzl guys who assured me it wasn't an issue: 1)the connection is stronger than it seems and 2)the bending moment is only as much as can be induced by a line under tension (a lot less than if the ZZ were attached to a ridge surface)....

Thanks, this made today's climb a little less concerning.

After the MagThrowBag had done it's job...time to try out the zigzag...

Zigzag doing what it does...

WOW...this thing takes a light touch. Me likey. :sisi:

An hour of practice with the magthrowbag a few days ago and flaking the throw line into the bag I carry a 17' lanyard in really paid off today.

I ascended SRT on a canopy anchor. The zigzag and leather FS were set up DdRT on the non-climbing leg of the rope still on the ground. I only used the Roll N Lock as a pulley to pull up the 115' leg with the zigzag and to make sure I didn't drop it. It was stowed away shortly after the photo. To cross, all I had to do was let out the SRT leg and pull in the DdRT leg. Once across the original canopy anchor and SRT leg are pulled over and everything stays with you.

EDIT:
The carabiner on your Roll N Lock is attached to what - the tail end of your rope?

I may have not answered your question. The carabiner on the RNL was attached to a sling choked higher on the stem.
