Petzl footlocker

In the 2003 sherrill catalog there is a new device made by Petzl called "footlocker". Strangely enough the Italian Petzl reseller has never heard of it.
Has anyone seen it, tried it, used it???

Petzl decided to produce this again after not making any for a few years. I've never used one at work but I have at the shows. Its a nice, compact tool. Robert Phillips uses one I think.

The FL is a much safer DdRT ascender than the shell, handled ascenders I think. since the ropes are captured, there is less of a chance that the rope will jam.

The Petzl Shunt works DdRT and SRT. It was designed as a replacement for the prussic for foot locking and backing up a figure 8. There are no parts to remove to install the rope(s). The ropes are also captured in the Shunt. The best part is it costs $40.00 as compared to the $99.00 for the Footlocker. It can also be used as a mechanical hitch when you use the standing end of your climbing line to double crotch or as a lanyard adjuster.
