PC Virus

I think I have a bug and I want to know if anyone else went through the same crap thats driving me nuts.

Here are the symptoms.... whenever my pc is downloading or doing more than one task, it locks up at the most unopportune time.

If it is a virus is Norton the best way to go?

Any input is appreciated.

not sure if that's a virus, but I'm sure you should have some kind of antivirus installed. I got frustrated with norton because when it got close to time (but not actually time) for renewing my subscription, I would have problems with the machine locking up a lot, along with other crap I won't go into (more customer-satisfaction type stuff). I looked around for recommendations and decided on AVG antivirus. Haven't had it long, but so far so good, and it came highly recommended.

if your problems started friday, you may have the kama sutra bug (named for its rampant spreading of porn email). look it up on any AV site for more info.

good luck. hope you don't have a bug; lots of that stuff writes over your files to do its dirty work.

Sounds like you're over heating Doc. Try downloading on a cool start and see if it still does it. And I like Norton and Macefee.
