Patriotic Millionaires

I don't know about international tax codes, but in the US, they are free to pay as much as they want and simply not ask for a return when they file. There are plenty of loopholes, etc that they can just not use as well.

My guess is no country is going to say "no, we don't want more of your money."
 
You put more cookies in the jar and all you end up with is more hands reaching for them.

The problem isn't so much rich people not being taxed enough, it's the corruption, misspending and skimming off the top that is the real issue. Until that is solved why throw more money in to a black hole.

Yep...you could take every penny from every billionaire in the US and it would have already been spent between Jan 1 and now.
 
Boom, you are 100% right, reallocation and more efficient/effective use is needed. In the US many millionaires and billionaires don’t pay or pay a tiny percentage of income tax. A few years back Warren Buffet talked about how his secretary was taxed at a higher rate then him, I don’t think he chose to add to his tax bill. The OP article is more about that then individuals choosing to pay more. Maybe cut the salaries of Senators too or make it average wage to their state.
