Here is a link for a recent article I wrote for ODSK..http://www.works-odsk.jp/original93.html
The two video links are in Japanese but anyway you can see the gear and the way they are packed.

I am completely won over by Mystery Ranch, the quality of design, material and workmanship is second to none. It was an interesting challenge to get a formidable amount of required gear into the Hot Top. With the variety of pockets I am secure in the fact that First Aid and Chainsaw Maintenance are covered whenever I go onto site (our sites are often far from the car without freedom of movement because of the trains). This type of set up is compartmentalised, as good harness storage design should be, so that every things whereabouts are consciously to hand. Since writing the article I have added ice-clips (caritools) to the shoulder straps so when two hands are needed on steep inclines a chainsaw or additional bag can be temporarily hung.

Thanks

Great information. I'm looking for a way to organize my gear. Love the videos at the bottom of the page. Do you use the mystery ranch pack? Which one do you use?

Thanks

Thanks Adam. Did you see the Matriosac throwline storage from FTC? It clips and hangs on the backside of the pack and fits in so beautifully to the air flow section on the Hot Top that it is like they were made for each other. There are still some storage options I haven't explored yet...it is an awesome pack.
Here is a video advertisement for the Matriosac:
