Our ol\' pal oakie

Many of you may not know that Reed has been battling cancer for quite some time. This past bout has been hard on him so I thought he could use some encouragement from his TreeBuzz family. Oak has a ton of passion, if ever you found yourself backed in a corner he's the guy you'd want on your side. You're a very valued friend to me buddy and my prayer is that you find the strength to push through this. I tip my hat to you oak and I'm here for you. Now come on Buzzers! let's hear it for oak...

Vibes are being sent, and will be sent, for ya, Reed.

I've always liked you, and understood much of your issues, where you're coming from, and your strong views.

Pulling for you to come through this trial..

As I am for Dave, who has climbed for me for a few years now, and is definitely world class. He has a history of heart problems, which recently returned. He suffered a mild attack Sunday, and is being told that he may need a pacemaker, and that tree work is out of the question. This is devastating for him.

More on this later.....in its own thread.

Nice to visit this section for a reason that unites rather than divides.

You're a good guy to have as a friend, Jim!

[/ QUOTE ]. Just a regular feller here Tom. I was searching the TB archives one day and came across a thread Oak started for a fellow buzzer that just lost his teenage daughter to a car accident. There was a ton of support for that poor guy and I haven't seen him post since his loss. I use to butt heads with oak a lot and suddenly he didn't seem to be the animal I thought he was. So I started to PM him to get to know him better. Reed has led an adventurous life, I always look forward to his messages. Don't get me wrong, we'll still disagree with some stuff but that's ok. He told once that his favorite place to be was in a room full of people, all laughing and carrying on. Reminds me of TB. I love it that you guys are showing your support, especially you that are some of oaks greatest sparring partners. Some of you that would rather send oak a PM should feel free to do so but keep in mind that he may not have the energy to respond. Just check the message received box to be sure he read it. This thread is intended to be a blessing to oak, so let's loosen up and have some fun with him.
