Old Asplundh truck question

Can anyone tell me if the little fuel filter that is mounted on the frame under the pony motor is actually a filter or a fuel pump of sorts and where i could get a replacement ? Thanks i think it the lr3 on a 94 model with the gas kubota.

If there is a wire connected, it may be a fuel pump, if it just has a fuel line in and a fuel line out, sounds like a filter. I don't know much about those trucks, but I do know filters and pumps. A plugged filter will seriously impair performance. A picture might help clarify. Good luck. If it is a filter, you can most likely get a replacement inline filter at your favorite auto/truck parts dealer. Just remove the old one first. You might be able to replace the filter housing totally if not able to get a new element.

Yeah thats what i figured and it does have a fuel line in and a fuel line out but there are two wires running to it i guess the real question is do those old pony motors have a on the engine mechanical fuel pump or do they sit off to the side away from the motor some where? I ve never seen a filter with electricity running to it but maybe its to keep the fuel from jelling or something not sure! Thanks

Undo the out side of the filter, then turn on the ignition switch for the pony motor, if fuel runs out the filter then it's a pump, if not it's a filter with some sort of sensor.
Well the research ive done leads me to think it may be an after market fuel pump of sorts the motor is the wg 600 kubota and the kubota manuals all say it has a mechanical pump so it must be something asplundh must have added?

Mine is an 1999 asplundh truck with a kubota wg750-e pony motor and the fuel line goes from the tank to an in line fuel filter than to an electric fuel pump that looks a bit like a fuel filter with 2 wires going into it and from there it goes into the carburetor. Hopefully this helps I don't know where you could get one.
