Obtaining your scoresheet

[ QUOTE ]
you want to know your score?
you want to know how each judge scored you?
you want to check the scoring?

[/ QUOTE ]
Not that I have ever went to one of these, but I'd want to know all of these.

and are you asking the question because you dont trust the judge or you want to improve your climbing by knowing what you did wrong?

[/ QUOTE ]
Both. On top of it I'd also want to see the questioned judge prove his expertice by example.

Maybe like a certification or something?

I know for a fact that our TCC operates in the red ink. We have a HUGE geographic area represented, and there are as many or more volunteers officials as there are climbers.

If a certification is required to officiate, I assume the officials would be paid. The way our comp is scored, IF a judge didn't like a particular competitor, the score would likely be low, BUT in most cases (in the master's challenge)with a full judging team, the high and low scores would be dropped. That keeps the judging fair and even.

As far as the learning curve at a comp is concerned, the new guys will learn MORE from watching the climbers in their group, or the Master's Challenge, than they would off a score sheet!

This is in my opinion as a volunteer judge.

Atleast a something. If you give a crap score and the others give a nice or great score, don't just explain go up there and show it.

The minnesota chapter does send out all of the scores. It is a great benifit to learn and improve the next year. The prelims there is rarely any issues with the scores but, our masters doesn't throw out the high/low.With just three judges their scores can make a huge difference. The newer guys will learn more from watching.Does it hurt for them to know how to get those extra points in the A.R. and masters??????????
