notch jet step

I've only climbed a couple of times with mine and so far, it doesn't slacken or move around. But the straps are a challenge to tighten as well. Maybe because they are news. Speaking of which, the straps seems a little skinny for the task. And the Y-shape strap that runs under your foot is a little too long for my small feet - the Y-junction ends up under my foot and so the protective sleeve is partially under my boot and partially up the side. It works well on the rope, and kicks out nicely enough, but not too easily, and is easy to slip back on the rope. Tends well off the ground after the first or second step.

Used mine for the first time today and i am very impressed. Smooth putting it on, easy putting the rope on and off. Best foot ascender ever.

The stuff sticking off just makes me nervous.
The features all seem lovely, I'm just going to have to play with one before I decide to spring for one.

The ascender is great, but the stock strap configuration is a joke. In fact, one of the straps broke while ascending after using a few months. It may better to have two straps under the foot or something a little stronger. Instead they (cheaply sew) one side to side that goes under foot. They also have some little useless protector sleeve. Not sure what the point of it is. The strap should be stronger and a little wider.

The straps require specific types of foot ware to remain tight.

So, who's going to put one on a pair of spikes?
I have several times and I will say, out of all the good things this foot Ascender has, putting them under your spurs is not one of them. I make it work, but it's so big and clunky that it has to fit in front of my spikes making it a little awkward but it works. I would love to figure out an easy quick way to attach it directly to the shank.

Besides that, it's great. You can barely tell it's on from the very low drag on the rope. I never need anybody to tend my slack at the start of a climb and it's goes on and off the rope like butter.
