Notch gecko

I have a new set of notch gecko steel climbers with pole gaffes. I did a large removal was in the tree for a couple hours rigging and roping down the tree. The spikes had worn blisters on my legs under the pads they where on tight and not moving around just weird to me. Any one have this problem.

Weird. Could you feel the top edge of the cuff through the pad, or was the pad high enough to block the pressure point?

I just recently noticed the lovely little loops by the spur on these. What do they put them there for?

I assumed the pads would be fairly comfortable.

Operator error.. Dont listen to the typical arborist recommendation of putting the top of your pad 1" below your knee. Total nonsense! Bring em' down till the pad is hitting you in the meat of your calf. 3" or so below the bottom of your knee joint. Sounds like you might need to get spur tough too.

Regardless your riding your pads too high. Looks to me like the angle of your blister matches up with the lowest angled notch on the inside of the pads? Poor design?

I wear these spurs and have not had blisters lime the poster showed. I am kinda short though. What type of foot straps are you running? The foot straps that comes with these spurs are kinda junky. The left strap delaminated after a month of use. Could a loose foot strap cause the pad to rub?

Damn dude.. i didn't know you could get the herp on your calf! Some Valtrex should clear that

I have the strap that came with them like I said they are new and I have only worn them the one time they could have just loosened while I was climbing
