Just wanted to give you guys a heads up. I'm on a committee to prepare and help present a one day tree rigging seminar, that will be held in Concord, NH.

We will be holding it sometime in mid April and our agenda is still undecided. I was wondering what people would like us to present? Any suggestions?

Remember, we don't want to try and sell any one particular type of rigging gear. We will present the different systems out there, but with only one day, there's a lot to cover.

We also don't want to get too technical, so this first worshop may be more of a basic tree rigging with an emphasis placed of reducing rigging forces.

So let me hear some ideas!

I need to think about this a bit. Let me get back to you. I have a lot of opinions on this topic and want to get me thoughts straight

I'd be interested in going. Will there be a cover fee? Possible ISA/CTSP credits? ;)

I'd like to find a quicker/easier alternative for choking/tying off multiple limbs in the absence of slings/loops. Ie; tying off 2-3 pine limbs with the use of several cloves and a running bowline at the end. Pulling all that slack through, especially if the limbs are spaced out from each other is still quicker than individual lowering, yet gets cumbersome to do.

Demonstration on the uses of multiple lowering/lifting devices, Hobbs, GRCS, etc.?

One day rigging work-shop is really only enough time to cover the basics. I understand that having an audience of experience from beginner to advanced rigger's could be a challenge.
I would like to see something more geared towards experienced arborists. Chris remember the presentation at Elm Bank a few months ago? Something even more advanced than that.
I understand that your objective might not be for advanced arborists and i understand that. I would like to see more complex rigging situations discussed and idea's thrown out.
Some examples are speedline rigging, drift lines, grcs rigging, removing dead trees. Just to name a few.
Maybe an option would be a two day class. One day going over the basics and the second day doing somethings that are more technical. Might be over some participants head, but might get them thinking. If it could be hands on that would be great as well. If a tree could actually be removed that also would be great!!

Just my two cents. I'm also interested in helping out where-ever I can.
