I am from Anderson Indiana, I work for Richard's tree serv. a family business, and I also do some climbing for Morgan's tree serv., wich is a good friend of mine and still a new company! That is who i was climbing for in the picture, by the way what is wrong with the pic.? Its not very clear it was overcast and foggy that day. Is there any one on from my area? I am going to do some looking in the competion discussion, i would like to find someone that would show me the ropes!

Some people just won't wear a hardhat, no matter the rules or instinct for self preservation. On the other hand, maybe if they start young it's a different story, that's how it worked for me - 15 yrs old, shoveling the deep snow around trees so dad could make low stump cuts - "Here boy, wear a hardhat, this is dangerous, AND it's the law".

So I'm driving along and see this kid trying to jump up and grab a hanging branch but can't quite reach. I stop, grab my brain bucket and pole hook, I say to him -"Let me help, I hate to see anyone doing treework without a helmet". "Wait!" he yells, and RUNS into the house, 20 seconds later he's back wearing a "Real" hardhat.

His enthusiasm really blew my mind after working with guys on the OSHA regulated timeclock who practically refuse to wear one and when asked if they have one say "I'm not even sure where it is" - wierd phenomenon.

So treeclimber is referring to the pic you attached to your 1st post of you in the bucket with a bare head.

Here's the pic of my new favorite groundy. Not sure why he wants that brush so bad, maybe he has a "real" chipper in the back or something.

Ok, last summer got real tired of yelling "ROPE" all the time! So one day I start to order a reach tool, when my wife says, "NO YOUR NOT?" Why not? "YOU WON'T NEED A REACH TOOL WHEN YOU ARE BRAIN DEAD FROM NOT WARING A HELMET!" So I ordered both of them. I told her that I would not ware it all the time. Like to run up to put a rope in a tree or something. But I do ware it all the time, that is when I am climbing. Sometimes I will if I am working ground roping dead wood. I really do like it! I liked my reach tool too, until i broke it! Some things though I think should be up to the worker, especially fall arrest harness and lanyard. What if a limb snags it and yanks you out? Ya you might hang, but it could wrap around your neck too? "But I allways ware that!

OK, Raven. So I finally found out to click on the attachment. So I did that, and I found out what you were talking about in that story. And let me say, I got a good kick, with that kid! Good stuff! Does he want an application or something? Probably trying to make a club or something!
