New truck

Hey guys, im lookin to buy a new truck. lookin at the mitsubishi fusos. i live in an area with alot of tight cramped dirt roads, tight spaces etc. Anyone have any experience with these vehicles and if so what are your suggestions as to models...i want to stay small and not need cdl but also have the power to pull a 12 inch brush bandit around with a load of chips. thanks

Those Fusos are sweet Jim. You'll be happy with one on these Cape roads. I looked for awhile, but couldn't find anything 4x4 in my price range. Ended up with a sweet International 4200. Turns just as tight and more power too. Good luck.

Hey, thanks man, you sound like a local..are you? im out of wellfleet.Shannon Tree Service

I bought a Isuzu NQR and though I love the setup I have...but if I had to do it over again I would have went with an Isuzu FTR or GMC T6500/7500. I do miss the 4x4 of my old f450, but with the mini skid it isn't a huge issue (dumping can get messy though). I tow a Vermeer 1230a , and it really works the truck going up hills, especially when full of chip and mini...there are hills I avoid. Reversing up a hill is even worse. I am hoping to switch to a aluminum chip body to lighten things up...and hoping I don't destroy my tranny.

So I second...stay away from 4 cyclinders

I was on Castle hill for three days last week. I get down your way once in awhile.
Small world.good to meet you.are you interested in a monster removal job of about 10 big pines at the end of a very long dirt road?

i turned it down. Beyond my desire or capacity without subbing out a crane. Bartlett bid on it so far..wont say here ...but alot. If you had alot of man power and a flat bed and a dingo.....let me know. jim

I ran a Fuso for three years, it will pull a 150 with a good load of chips, not easily but it will do it. The 4x4 saved us a couple of times and the cabovdr was awesome in the big city. It was hard to go back to a standard truck after!

I have owned two Mitsubishi Fuso 4x4's. One was a '98 & the other a 2010. They are good tree trucks. The '98 I liked better due to it's tighter turning radius. When they added to diesel particulate filter to to 2010 they had to extend the chassis and now they don't turn any better then average. Most of the time we dump chips before hauling the chipper back to the shop, even with our bigger chip trucks. But both Mitsy's pulled the chipper no problem.

Hey Jim give me a call. Definitely, and I'll put you to work if you want.
hey bud, the guys name is peter McMahon-508-349-3022....apparently hess gettin a bit from the forest keepers as well.
