New truck for me. 2011 F350 Landscape Dump

Good looking truck.
So you don't think it needs a bath?
I just did my first job with the new truck yesterday.
Fortunately, the folks I do work for know I don't haul anything away ... always leave it for the homeowner to dispose ... but I will cut limbs into manageable sizes. Hauling away debris may open up more work for me, but I work too cheap to be concerned with transportation regulations & tipping fees.

....It has a flat deck that I've been thinking of turning into a dump. Has anyone run a mini dump like that?...
Real easy to make them a dump. Just weld in a set of pins to hinge it on and add a hoist and pump. Whole kits with everything you need are usually available on ebay. As long as its atleast 8 ft they are nice to have. They are versatile if you build the box with a removable roof.

Or build sides using 2x12s you can tear down yourself and tarp the top. That's what I did with my landscape box and it works great.

Steel seemed like a bad idea and Aluminum in what I considered HD was nuts in cost. I also like the fact that there should be less noise in general coming from the boxes when driving with gear in them. I have had Poly boxes for outdoor storage for years with no problems so I figured why not give these a shot. I also talked with their service people and they seemed really focused on quality and only producing products that people would recommend if asked. We will see, Good or Bad you guys will hear it from me.

Well this is what I decided on.
Nice. Will be interesting to see how they hold up after a few winters. I like storage boxes, so I gotta' ask: Did you ever acquire a box for storing/toting the Wraptor? I keep may saws in boxes, and the Wraptor's exterior components are not really conducive to having it thrown in the truck bed or cab with a bunch of other "stuff." I want to protect that investment.

Boxes shipped yesterday, should have them this week. Then all I need to do is mock up some brackets and make them. On a side note I went to the scale today to get a dry curb weight so as I add stuff I will know about how much payload I end up with. Right now I barely break 9k so extra weight has to be subtracted from the 4300 I got at the moment. My gut tells me with boxes and gear I will probably have a payload of about 3800lbs. Only time will tell.

Yep, that's exactly why I went to the scale and paid my 11 bucks. I expected it to be heavier myself, but it's heavy enough to opt out of emissions, light enough my insurance company didn't need to make it a commercial policy. Of course I just looked at an 80 ft Walnut with 3ft trunk and thought "that will be more than one load" lol.
