New truck for me. 2011 F350 Landscape Dump

My underbody boxes work great for saws. I stuff my rope bags in and around the saws to minimize damage during transport. I like keeping my gas, oil, grease gun, and the other messy stuff in their own box.

I agree when they are mounted to the frame (and my L pack is mounted to the frame). But the two additional boxes I intend on adding can not mount to the frame due to spring hangers. They are going to mount directly to the frame of the chip box so when dumping they will go up too. I'm just a bit fussy about my saws anyway (and there is plenty of space in the L Pack for them). One of the new boxes will only be for the grease gun, gas and oil like you said. Keep that crap away from my gear!

My big box on my freightliner is mounted to the dump body. Not a problem with saws going for a ride up, just have to pack them in accordingly. If I had an L pack they'd be in there tho.

Other than giving up some bed space....it is cheaper to get a couple Job boxes and mout them in the dump. They're bigger, stronger and about indestructible.

Yes there is that. I think a pair of 36 x 18 x 18 will work underbody but I need to look at the frame and see what might be in the way. Maybe a couple 24's and couple more later might be the answer also. Need to think about what I really need to carry as compared to everything I own, lol.

Thanks. It's 2WD, I hear the pickup does better but we all know dump trucks aren't really aerodynamic.

Has anyone tried the polymer underbody boxes? I just noticed them as a 3rd material option.

I have tried all since your in northeast like myself I would go with aluminum lighter weight and will not rust with salt ect. Buyers or Tractor Supply has decent tool boxes.

I got that spring pac and sub frame clutter going on myself. I am think hard about mount to the underside of the dump myself. Gives me a clear spce to add 1 48x24x24 per side, or maybe a pair of 24 inch cubes to help naturally separate and pack the messy stuff, and the hard stuff. A single 48 is obviously a lot cheaper than a pair of 24's. Maybe a 48 with a diy divider at 18 (or whatever size me 5 gallon and 2 gallon jugs stack up to be.

You'll never have enough storage the bigger you can go the better. Saws and fuel in one, basic tools bee spray tarp etc etc in the other for me. And then i have a seperate box mounted on chipper for climbing/rigging gear.

I have a Chuck and duck which has a triangle of extra frame before tongue. I got a small truck toolbox from a friend, put eyelets in frame and box and secure box using hardware store clips.

I always thought there was a lot of underutilized space on chippers for the taking. I've seen all sorts of various tool boxes, vices, ladder racks, etc, added on. Or Mike Poor's tongue extension with the platform for his mini. I liked the Vermeer BC2000 with the pretty good sized tongue tool boxes from the factory.

I've been running a 2012 f350 with the 6.2 gas. It gets similar milage but with 4x4 and SRW.
It has a flat deck that I've been thinking of turning into a dump. Has anyone run a mini dump like that?
Right now i'm still a dump trailer warrior, so it's either make this a dump or get a proper 450 or 550...

Good looking truck. No help on the conversion though.

I just did my first job with the new truck yesterday. For me, who does mostly small jobs I can hand carry the wood, not having to deal with a chipper was nice. Small neighborhood, just pulled up, coned out the area, knocked out a bunch of brush and trees and threw them into the dump. In and out in 1-1/2 hours, with limited noise and mess. Not really what would work for large jobs or companies but for me I am liking this setup.
