Rumor has it, that a hard tether in various sizes is going to also be made by Sterling Rope. Any word on this Luke?

ISC really makes some quality gear, but I’m gonna miss the “Made In Detroit” stamping on the side of the RW.

Yeah, I haven't heard much more about this, but I know Sterling was working on it. That would be great to have length options.

It doesn't have to vary in length. As long as its long enough for your hitch to be below the rope wrench by lets say 4". I would make them 15" long. my rigid tether is about 10" i wish it was longer so i could tie a longer hitch. But it doesn't change the action.

I have a prototype tether from sterling that I was given when I got my wrench that is stitched and has some shrink tubing on it and it seems to run pretty well. It's not super hard but fairly stiff.

What length is it?

I find longer hitch cords grab and release better. I've been able to fine tune longer hitches better for me then short ones. Grab consistantly with a very smooth release.

I agree longer hitch cord works better for me. 30" is my length, and I fly a VT with 3 wraps/3 braids. Sometimes a michoacan.

Wow, for me, it's just the opposite. 24" eye-to-eye Viking splice on 8 mm Armor Prus and 7/16" KMII is what works personally.

Just goes to show you how personalized SRT (and the RW) is for everyone.

I was talking with a Sterling rep at this past weekend's TCIA SRT Workshop, but couldn't get the skinny out of him.

Ha, good then at least the dude at Sterling won't be surprised by my nosey email this morning. I told him that inquiring minds wanted to know the scoop.

Did I read it right somewhere that the new wrench is meant for ropes a little bigger than 11mm. I am worried about switching from my kmIII to a 24 strand. I only tried tacyon and rocket mind you, but I found them way too bouncy. I have read the rope threads and I might try out some fly or imori and see if I end up liking them.

11 to 13mm is the range, I believe.
