New multicender? AC SULU GO

Looked like there was an accessory carabineer attached to a place where a chest harness would go but I see it putting a bend in the rope just like a gri gri

Yes, it arrived a few days ago. It works great for what it is intended for, follows the climber, grabs reliably, and can descend at any time. The clamping action, instead of a cam, allows brake hand free descending. I don’t see it being used in tree work, you would set a fixed line as usual, and climb the tree, instead of the rope.
The accessory carabiner is used for added security of keeping the side plate in place. A chest, neck, or lots tender connects to the carabiner, or as the instructions suggest, a small loop in the attachment hole.

I've got mine and I like it so far. Nothing special on 11mm but it's running like a dream on 8mm ultra tech. I'm rope walking just like any other srt system. It's tending point kinda sucks, I've found my favorite way is to run my bridge up a little longer and clip the bottom of my bridge swivel as the tending point

It was sluggish on a 10mm Mammut semi-static, it has a somewhat bumpy cover, and not real firm. KM III max was much better, firm, with a smooth cover.
It doesn’t want to slide on Technora, even on a 6mm.

I wonder why that would be? Do ypu mean that it doesn't slip on Technora on descent, or won't slide up the rope at all on ascent. not sliding up the rope seems especially strange.
