Before chip drop got a foot hold here on the island I use to have a list a mile long where I could dump chips for $125 a load. I worked for years developing and marketing this and it just went poof! Now folks act like I’m crazy for selling my chips. I rather dump them at the green waste yard for free than pay money to subscribe to a app to dump for free.
I absolutely hate when I'm asked if I need to "get rid of" the chips. Im not against giving them away, but they are a resource with value.
We sell our ~9 yd load for $180-270/load delivered. That's usually less than hog fuel which is no where near as quality as our chips.
I don't use chip drop for the reason of not wanting to degrade the market.
If a platform could allow requests and offers of variable $, I'd be interested.
As it is we maintain our own free list, and give priority to paid loads.
