New Climb Right aluminum spurs

Those new spurs are definitely going on the next tree stuff order. I was going to try to change the profile on mine but for $50 I'll gladly just replace them. That has been my one issue with the climbrights, I hate having to kick them in so hard on certain trees.

That was my complaint with them, too... I now have the thinner profile spurs mounted on them, and they're much better. I also use the velcro lower straps... love those, too.

Wish i had seen this thread earlier. I just spent ages sharpening my gaffes into a different shape. My old ones worked on spars but were just brutal on any deciduous trees that you weren't stomping the spur into.

Did your sharpening them into a different shape work though? - And how did you do it? - By Hand?

l sharpened them by hand , not a drastic shape change . Someone also told me they needed a heavy sharpening right out of the box too. I haven't done a removal since but ill report on how or if there was any gains to this sharpening. If not i think tree stuff might be receiving an order, might even throw those nice looking stein pads on there too.
