networking

anyone interested in the sarasota, pinnelas, manatee areas creating a networking group?
alot can be gained by doing so.
some of the topics could be safety, marketing in the area, employee, equipment. it is a good way to meet the people in your area and try and tighten up the industry locally in many ways. i ahve been invlved in them in the past and they work. the service i run is 90% commercial and the other 10% is in the communities we work for. i would like to give all my res calls to someone in the area, to create a community amoungst ourselves. i won't refer just anyone though, that is what i would bring to a networking group, as well as a ton of the most recent safety concerns, issues and ideas directly related to tree care. also, i have some great formulas to offer in regards to pricing and keeping lost revenue to a minimum. let me know if interested. i don't care if it only one person, it would be a start.

actually, we are involved with the Florida ISA. I am currently taking a course at PTEC that Norm instructs at.
The Fl. ISA reps are the ones who really encourage all of us working together in the sense of networking. It couldn't hurt, I actually feel it would be good for guys to get to know each other and their capabilities. I pass up on some really nice work residentially, if I networked with some local guys I could shoot the calls their way. Which meens in the long run, we could all start to increase hourly rates to finally get what skilled arborists should get. People call 3 companies for quotes and too often go with the lowwest price without taking safety, training, insurance into account. Typically(not always), the lowest price comes from someone who treats our industry as a income for their beer on weekends. I think if everyone got involved with the ISA or a networking group, we could help eachother in ways that we may not loose the work to those hacks.
