Need some input from CTSPs

Looking for some input from those who have their CTSP.

I'm working on the critical thinking stuff and, well I'm at a total loss for what to put on #4 accountability and measurables.

We're a small shop and I'm the supervisor and often times everything else on a given day.

Anyhow, since I view myself as responsible (accountable) for everything and my performance in that is measured by whether or not somebody gets hurt or something gets broken I'm having brain block on what to put down.

What sort of safety related things are supervisors accountable for and how are they measured?

Rick - Safety is not only measured in what does or doesn't happen, but how smoothly the jobs are completed.
Accountability can be things like the tone and examples you set for your employees. It can be the equipment or environment you provide. How often will/do you provide training or ER practice and prep?

And the measurables are on how smoothly it all goes. Close calls? Increased productivity? Meeting the training and practice goals? Employee moral and participation in the program.

Hope this helps.

The entire ctsp classes and tests really helped get you thinking. When you have been doing the same things for years, certain habits become acceptable. This process really helped me to keep up on pro active safety and not reacting to accidents or near misses. Good program for any size operation.
