Nashville info?

Where can I find details about the upcoming Int'l Tree Climbing Competition? Exact location, schedule of events, etc. I went to the ISA site but it is not very obvious.

I think it would be a great chance to meet some of the folks that post to TreeBuzz and, hopefully, pick up some ideas about how others "do their thing" in the trees.

Thanks.

The ITCC will be at the Ellington Agricultural Center on Saturday and Sunday. The climbers will be going through gear check and rules on Friday. The event trees will be prepped starting on Weds.

This is a great way to learn and meet the rest of the family from around the world.

Contact the ISA office and they'll pass your name along. This might take some time to make the rounds to the event planners. If you're interested in helping and can spare the time, I'd say book the time and plan on showing up. Anyone whose been involed in any large event knows how welcome too many hands are.

Thanks...the reference to Ellington Agricultural Center helped me track down this page:

for very specific schedule info.

And this page for a general blurb:

If they use the same tree as the ISA Southern Chapter did last year, it won't need much prepping. A medium-size Quercus phellos was SEVERELY lion-tailed /forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif prior to that event.

Plenty of room for easy swininging, that's for sure. Other than that, the grounds are nice, and have several other decent trees.
