Name this Knot

I was sitting on the couch today watching TV with a sore throat. Thought I’d mess around with a rope and tie a few knots.
I stumbled across this surprisingly easy knot for joining 2 ropes of similar diameter. Haven’t yanked it with a truck yet to discover it’s unlocking properties, but given its form I should imagine it would untie easily.
Have any of you come across this or know what it’s name is?

Looks the same no matter which way you turn it. I pulled on it with legs and feet and she doesn’t slip and won’t bind up! Hmm I may need to test this further.

Looks like it could potentially need to be snugged up in a specific order to be secure. If you cinch down on the two standing ends of each rope first it looks like it may constrict that first loop to early preventing the next from tightning properly.

That's just first thoughts from the pic, I'll tie it and play with it tonight cause it is a pretty neat looking knot.

IMO the alpine butterfly is [as in most cases] the best knot for your use here (joining two ropes of similar size)

Has to be a known knot? I haven’t been able to find it, but it’s so simple that it has to have been discovered? It even works with long tails not snugged up! You don’t even have to snug it!
