My account of the UK Arborist Trade Fair

Good to meet you Reg, nice to see your products on the show. Wish you every success with the both of them, after all the hard work you've put in over the last couple of years. Had a good show, good to catch up with friends old and new alike.

Thanks so much for the good review, CC. I never heard much said before about the UK Arboist Fair. But I do think it would be fun and a welcome change of pace to visit the UK during the next time it runs.

Well, we'll have to ensure that happens Jerry!

The trade fair is set in typical picturesque English countryside in the cotswolds. It is outdoor which has its pros and cons. On the plus side, with the new setting on the woodland edge, most stands have access to decent sized hardwoods to demo equipment/techniques.

For some, the advantage is the ease to pitch a tent for two days and roll in and out of the beer tent as you meet old friends : ) For those that like to sleep at night without the aid of a comatose state or ear plugs, the nearby town of Cirencester has many good restaurants and hotels/bed & breakfast type places. Some good history too.

Normally its good weather, but it seems to be a sandy soil that drains well if it rains.

gerry, if you're going to mame the trip it might be worth coming for the APF instead. this is a bi-annual event and is much bigger thanthe arb show. it has all the arb offerings of cirencester but also a lot of heavy forestry equipment. it takes a day to walk around the apf, where cirencester takes about 2 hours! thats assuming you dont stop talking to everyone you meet!
