Ms 150 tuning

Hello All,

I have been working now for a few months with the ms150 and i find it to be a very comfortable saw in the tree. Sure it misses the punch of a 200t but weight and size wise it is ideal. Perfect for the small trimming jobs.

The fact that the saw is so light also makes it more dangerous. I have found my self holding it in al kinds of positions, some of them where you really do no want a running chainsaw...

However i have the feeling the saw runs a little under her optimal Rpm. And as it has one of those new carbs with a child-lock on it there is not much to do.

Does someone have experience with turning up the H on such a carburator?

Thanks,

Maarten

No experience for tuning it, but you should def try the Echo 260 TES has the saim weight but lots of more power and no problem with cold start etcetera ;-)

Maybe if you tune it a bit (drill out the exhaust and fit a descent carb on it) it will perform way better.
Have used it a couple of times and I wasn't very enthousiast about it. Especially for pruning the saw has to rev up quite fast and it sure does not do that between running times and it needs a lot of warming up in between every cut.

When it's warmed up it works great but it cools down to quickly, or I just climb to slow ;-)

The weight is perfect just like the echo and that makes it nice, but the performance is poor and would be great to tune it a bit.

Climb safe

Hi Wouter,

How is it with those echo's nowen-days? I have a pair of older models that do not get any use for i found the vibration coming from them more the i can handle. And the fact that the oiler keeps pumping when idling is really a pain in the ..
