Marlow Vega Availability?

I won't claim to be a black belt in Google/DuckDuckGo-fu, but I *am* having trouble finding Marlow Vega from any US sources.

Anyone got a lead on that stuff? ~200' of it?

I got a 150 hank from Rocknarbor on their Black Friday sale. The website says it is on order but it has been since the sale. I got mine at 30 % off. I had called them about it some months before and they seemed to indicate they were discontinuing it. I would give them a call.

Big fan of Marlow Vega but availability is a big issue. I find AllGears 11.8 all poly climbing lines to have a very similar feel, and I actually might prefer the AllGear overall. If you are looking for a kick-ass 24 strand with low elongation that stays round, has great hand, and a stout construction it might be just the ticket. Plus is readily available.

A few months back I tried to track down some Vega in North America. 600 ft Spools. 300 ft Hanks. Hell, would have settled for a 200 ft hank, which is a little better than worthless around here. Nothing. I even called the US distributor, but never heard back..I like the rope enough that I looked overseas and the only place I found that had anything over 45 meter hanks was accessropes.com, but they wanted around $300 for a 196 ft hank (with an eye), and that was before shipping, taxes, and any duties. No thanks.

Yeah it's good, but not worth that. I'll be just fine, Clark, with some hyperclimb or km3max.

Do you concur with the "stiff", almost-non-fuzz feel of the Vega jacket? Is that in any degree reflected in the Allgear 11.8 poly/poly's?

Nothing replicates the cover of Vega. A close second was Yale Calamine of years ago. Indestructable rope if there was ever one.....vega is similar, wish I had bought a spool of green.

Yes. To me the AllGear’s jacket is stiffer than any Yale, Samson, or Teufelberger 24 strand I have ever climbed on, but it’s not quite as stiff as the Vega. I will say that the AllGear seems to do a better than the Vega when it comes to staying round, and it also doesn’t get baggy like many 24 strands do.. As you can see I have become a big fan of the AllGear 11.8. It ticks all the boxes for me (low elongation, good hand, sturdy, spliceable, reasonably priced, and readily available), and has become my go to.
