A North Wilkesboro man injured in a tree-cutting accident Thursday morning was listed in critical condition at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem late this morning.
Emergency personnel said Glenn Miller was struck in the head by a limb when a tree was being cut down near his residence on Short Street, which is in North Wilkesboro's Highland Park neighborhood. It occurred about 8:25 a.m. Thursday.
Emergency personnel said Miller was assisting people hired to do the work when the accident occurred. An AirCare helicopter landed near the accident scene and transported him to Baptist Hospital.
Wilkes Emergency Medical Service treated Miller at the scene. The Wilkes Rescue Squad and North Wilkesboro first responders were also dispatched.
Miller's age wasn't available by press time today.
