Hey everyone! I'm Carly and I live and climb in New York City. I'm currently in the process of trying to become a professional tree climber and am interested in finding more climbing buddies and women who have actually made it in this industry. Thanks for existing WOTT!

Hey Carly,
Welcome to the Buzz! I work in mid town a lot and live about 70 miles north in Dutchess Co. Where in the big apple are you working? If we're not doing tree work on weekends we are climbing for fun!

Hi all! I'm Steph (aka BonnZaiiTree) and I'm new to the forums. I didn't even know that this site was dedicated to tree sports. I registered due to an ailing tree I have.

See my posts in bugs in crud if interested.

Otherwise....
I don't participate in any of the tree sports, but it does sound very interesting. I'm 32 and live in Ohio. I do rock climb (own my own gear and stuff) which is somewhat similar I'd assume.

Beyond that I'm into yard work, bonsai trees, and comic books.

Nice to be on the forums!

Welcome to the Buzz! You should try to check out the Ohio Tee Climbing Championship in Cincinnati in a couple weeks. Lots of cool people there!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I'm in Columbus, so if I get a chance I'll try to check out the Ohio Comp. What is the name of it and what dates?

Spent the whole weekend working on the yard even though it was cold and rainy. Oh well.

Have a great week everyone.

Hello Everyone. I am a tree climbing arborist from Alberta Canada. I have been climbing for about 6 years and have competed locally 5 times and internationally 3 (if you include the NATCC in Georgia). I am looking forward to being as involved as I can in the competitions. I will be in Portland, Oregon this August to volunteer and I am hoping to find some willing local arborists to take me out for a recreational climb. It would be a dream come true to be able to climb in an impressive tree such as a redwood. I have met some incredible climbers at the international competition's and I hope to continue to meet many more in my life time.

Look forward to meeting some of you in the future. Keep up the good work.

Charlene

I own a tree care business in Cincinnati. I have gone through two male climbers who either think they can run my business for me or take no responsiblity for their work. Ugh! I am looking for at least two full time crews to keep up with our demand. If you know anyone near this area looking for work, please have them contact me at

Nice to meet ya'll,

Hi all,
I'm brand new to tree climbing and just found a new passion. I am a biologist volunteering in Costa Rica, and have been spearheading an effort to collect data on toucan cavities in the rain forest canopy via tree-climbing. We've been using a double rope system with prussiks and an ATC to access the cavities and lower down. I have a background in rock climbing and aerial arts (trapeze and aerial silks); it could be said that I like to be in the air, sometimes upside down. I've gotten so excited about tree climbing that I started looking it up, and when I came upon this forum, I found that not only is there a whole slew of tree-climbers out there, but amazing women who do some awesome burly work in tree-tops as their jobs! This is amazing. I'd like to know more about how I can start getting my foot into this profession's door. Problem solving, some burly work and finesse work, trees, being in trees, and climbing trees. I'm sold! Thanks for any help! Great to meet you all!
