Hi all,
I'm brand new to tree climbing and just found a new passion. I am a biologist volunteering in Costa Rica, and have been spearheading an effort to collect data on toucan cavities in the rain forest canopy via tree-climbing. We've been using a double rope system with prussiks and an ATC to access the cavities and lower down. I have a background in rock climbing and aerial arts (trapeze and aerial silks); it could be said that I like to be in the air, sometimes upside down. I've gotten so excited about tree climbing that I started looking it up, and when I came upon this forum, I found that not only is there a whole slew of tree-climbers out there, but amazing women who do some awesome burly work in tree-tops as their jobs! This is amazing. I'd like to know more about how I can start getting my foot into this profession's door. Problem solving, some burly work and finesse work, trees, being in trees, and climbing trees. I'm sold! Thanks for any help! Great to meet you all!
