Lowest stretch 11.7 line??

Poison ivy is the best rope out there. really great hand feel, wears very nicely, super easy to splice. nothing not to love in that rope. I had 250' of it strung up to the very top of a 275' doug fir and it performed awesome. not much stretch and no bounce like the tachyon has.

Wow, I did not know that the Douglas Fir could get that tall! This seems to almost give some competition to the Giant and Coast Redwoods.

I'm going to have to read more about this species. I'd seen Reg post about climbing 200 footers, but I had no idea that they could get much beyond that.

Thanks for your post.

Yale is based out of Saco, Maine and always has been. And Dave just recently expressed that he does not love the Poison Ivy group... hmmm [emoji57]

It's not that I don't like it, the few times that I've used it, it feels like it's squared and corkscrewed. If that makes any sense to you. It literally feels different from other ropes, maybe I'll have to give it a few more tries, before I judge or make any negative comments regarding some folks faves! So, forgive my comment/ judgment, of PI, Sumac, & that particular breed of rope. [emoji848]

I am curious about others opinions regarding Sumac, Calamine, and Poison Ivy, does anyone else have their ropes feel like it corkscrews? I've had the same results with all 3 of them. Even on SRT setups.

The first time I had PI, I couldn't stand the hockling. I currently climb regularly on a different hank (than the previously one I owned) of PI, Sumac, and Prism (all primarily SRT) and haven't noticed it at all. They do flatten which is fine in the Runner and wrench but not the BDB. Tachyon and Cougar are my BDB ropes.

The Prism is by far my go to BDBONE rope, I've only been using Tachyon for a couple of months now and I'm really starting to love it. I thought I'd be a Prism poster child, but the lime green, black & white Tachyon is really getting a lot of use. Just a good feeling rope, and holds up really well. Good call, Reed.

How much do you weigh? What bollard for Prism? Mine creeps even with the largest bollard.

Just over 215lbs, with harness and lanyard, some small misc. gear, and I use the largest bolllard, as well. I occasionally have to apply upward pressure on the upper arm when I get some slack in the line, not very often though. I've had a couple pucker moments, but I really like the feel of the Prism, even with the RopeRunner. I just moved the upper bolllard to almost 50% closer. The Tachyon doesn't slip "At All " with the BDBONE. How strange is that? [emoji854]
