Looking for Aerial Rescue Video/DVD Training F.D.

A while back someone on the Buzz did a video/DVD on training/or working with Fire Fighters in Aerial Rescue & Bucket Truck Rescue. I'm sorry I don't remember who it was, anyway I would like to get a copy of this, please.

AND,

If anyone has some really good hand outs/paper-work in Aerial Rescue Training, I would love to see it also.

TCIA is scheduled to have their new Aerial Rescue program out around the first of the year. There will be a new video and a workbook, both of which are based on Annex F from ANSI Z133.1 -2006.

The annex is a good place to start.

Re: Looking for Aerial Rescue Video/DVD Training F

Attached is the basic outline I used to teach an aerial rescue class for my FD. I did a talk and then they went up and "rescued" me in several different ways. I also used a powerpoint to outline harness hang syndrome, but I can't find it.

Re: Looking for Aerial Rescue Video/DVD Training F

Here's a shot of me getting picked off. I did three classes (one for each shift) and they all had different ways of doing it. This shift had a main rescue line (run through an elevated pulley), a backup line (natural crotched) and didn't disconnect my climbing line.

Re: Looking for Aerial Rescue Video/DVD Training F

We bought a big shot for setting water rescue lines, and they used it here too.

Re: Looking for Aerial Rescue Video/DVD Training F

Good outline for the AR class.

In the attachment in the last post the Bigshot is backwards !!!

The pole should be rotated 180* so that the rubber is on the other side of the pole (i.e. the pole should be between the rubber and the shooter). The throwline should be beyond the rubber.

Going from the tree to the shooter, the order should be--tree, string, rubber, pole, shooter.
