Looking buy used climbing spikes

I just signed up via the advice of a friend.
I am just getting into climbing trees for removal and need to buy a set of used spikes. I ordered a standard climbing kit from tree stuff which comes with the basic gear. Let me know what you have. Thanks in advance

Welcome!
I recently found a set of steel Buckinghams I forgot I had bought 15 years ago, never used but were stored in a shed for 15 years and have a very little surface rust. They're replaceable tree gaffs 2.75" I think, the older style that are secured in place with a pin not bolt.
Should last a lifetime really.
No pads, but I’ll see what I got if you want straps.

I'm thinking 110$ shipped in the US. I'll get a picture if you're interested.

Are you the local climbing spike dealer? LOL

The Buckinghams I got from you are still going strong as I’m sure you’d expect. Pretty sure they’ll never actually wear out.

Haha! Yeah this should be the last set to pass through my hands unless I get a hankering for some carbon fiber, but for now and foreseeable future I’m good with aluminum Bashlin tree gaffs and titanium Buckingham pole gaffs. I’m an occasional part timer these days anyways lol.

These ones and the Climb Rights that NailerB got came in some lots from eBay that had other stuff I wanted. The ones you got were my everyday spurs until last year when I got the Bashlins.

Really glad they’re doing well for you man, steel Bucks can last for generations if taken care of a little bit.

I have a set of aluminum climbright with sharp tree gaffs. New climbright pads and straps installed this spring. Nothing wrong with them but I found a set of buck titanium that I like better. $200.00 shipped.

I believe the spikes I borrowed are Buckingham's

Yes they will and that sounds awful. Gaff pads are available aftermarket by other manufacturers to fit them.

I’d really recommend a rigid pad. Opsal aluminum pads or something with a steel or aluminum insert that cups your shin along with padding.

No problem man.
The ones NailerB is selling have rigid pads already.
Weaver Leather and Buckingham both make a C cup shin pad that some folks swear by and they’re under 50$. They aren’t universal fit, but they make different ones to fit most common spurs out there.
