One of the crews from a borough of London bringing a Beech down, filmed and narrated by a concerned member of the public it would seem - cool vid in some ways. Always good to see things from another perspective, enjoy...........

I'm so tired of hearing" it doesn't look rotten" or some other stupid statement from the no mind jagov from down the street who has nothing better to do than bitch. Or the ones who stomp right past the groundies wearing a helmets and muffs, running the chipper trying to stop them so they can yell at the bucket operator for indiscriminately killing that tree for no reason.

Always annoying to have citizens rushing out of their houses, under caution tape, through pylons, past groundies, to tell the man who studied trees that the tree is perfectly fine.

Next time I need a hazard assessment I'll be sure to call you... Good thing we have error and omission insurance!

Handling the in field pr matters has it's downfalls most days.

Was a pretty tree. Looked like some cavities just below where he was cutting though near the 1st big crotch. And yeah, way too many "experts" out there.

TC what was the cool parts I must a missed them ?

Managing people/public around trees (their aspirations for their local trees, their historical connections to them, their disconnection to their wider environment) is such a big part of the whole picture that sadly many tree cutters don't get. The video highlights just how strongly some people have an emotional attachment to a local tree.

I'll come round to your neighbourhood and fell a big old familiar city tree that everyone in the neighbourhood has known for generations, I'll provide no information as to why it's being removed and we'll see how you feel about it.

What I liked about it was that the commentator wasn't an expert. Someone who just enjoyed the tree. The ending was the best with the tribute. The guy was not being an ass about it. I don't see the harm. Completely innocent tribute to a nice looking tree.

Then it'd be time for :boxeador:then a little:hueco:then probably:muyenojado:

There you go ! TC were you the Narrator ?
Cmon fess up!

that's a very posh (well spoken) English accent the guy has, the tree is in Hampstead Heath in London. I'm Scottish and live 400 miles north in Glasgow, I'd have to be really obsessed with trees to drive 400 miles to make a video about a tree removal in a place I know nothing about.
