I hope the very asking of this does not offend anyone as I am not trying to be cheap or steal from anyone. I am looking for a logo for my part time contract climb operation. Does anyone have a logo they own for their tree service that incorporates climbing or rigging or something of that nature that they would loan or sell to me for few dollars. Again I am not going to take it without anyone permission. Idea for a logo would be great too. I am not an artist but I will have to find one to have this thing created for me.

How do those work can you purchase the logos from them and go from there. I have never heard of the company so sorry for the noob like question.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you might want to ask yourself what you like/want/value in a logo. Your logo should represent what you or your company is and convey to others what you/company is about. And something that most people will recognize easily or at least be memorable. I had my logo made to look like the bar and chain of a chainsaw, but later wished it was a log loader instead. I still like my logo though, because I think it looks really good and most people know what it is. Take your time and good luck.

Be sure to poll the general non-tree pro public about your logo. What they want to see, as relates to your business, is what you want, not what you want to see.

Good words and I am following most to a T was just curious what and why you guys chose what you chose.

I had a graphic artist draw up a picture from a photograph I sent him. It's me on a spar pole back cutting a block that is pre-rigged.
The guy is a well known artist near my cottage (one of the areas I do work in). He does all the Mercury outboard motor calendars and quite a bit of work for the ATV and snowmobile associations.
I liked it so much, I had him draw up another one (my mini skidsteer in action).
They weren't cheap, but he put a lot of work into it and I own the rights to them.

Local sign maker (Gus @ Hilltop Signs, Allensville, ON) modified and incorporated into my logo a silhouette of a pine tree that I liked in Native Trees of Canada (or of Ontario; can't remember). They (Gus and his wife) also happen to be super nice folks to get to know.
You might want to visit some sign companies to see what they can come up with, even if you are not interested in a "sign". The design is in a computer file, so it can also get used on business cards, vehicle decals, stickers, clothing, etc.

One of the guys here on the buzz is helping me and we are both feeding of all the ideas thrown out here on this thread so keep them up. I will post up the final product when we get there.
