Lockjack

Thanx for the auctioneer services, but let's cut to the skinny. A one time only offer (If I don't have any takers, I'll keep the LJ and find a use for it) The first person to offer me 150 American Buckeroos walks away with the LJ.

"E" me at my off site address. I'm out of town for a few days so I won't reply till Monday.

I was just about to drop the gavel on the $100. No one was taking $105, I don't think you're gonna get $150 for it. Just my opinion.

And FWIW, I'm no treebuzz official! Just because I say going once, twice, sold, that doesn't mean anything is final. Anyone can still bid. That's between you and tony!

That being said...

SOLD!!!!! to Roachy for $100

Thank you for bidding, folks.

i want this lockjack but i want to hear more about it. i have been told its the closest mechanicl replacement for a blakes hitch, if thats the case i want it. but why wont anyone buy it from you? does it suck? is it just the price that keep ppl from using it?

Tinman,

The LJ is a nice tool. As I stated earlier, it just does not fit my climbing style. I would guess that most people bulk at the price, but if it works for you and you use it alot, like all tools, it will pay for itself. If your interested E mail me off line and perhaps we can work a demo period out.

honestly i would be interested if i could get some opinions. i usually shop for something on the net because it has lots of reviews, well i cant find anything on this and no one has talked about it yet on any sites i visit. except for you and you are selling it so maybe i should start a thread about it.

I've used the LJ and like it quite a lot. When I climb DdRT I use the LJ almost all of the time. The LJ will move up the rope with just a light tug on the falling end of the rope.

The latest version of the LJ is made with replaceable wear parts. The cam is easy enough to replace. You can get cams for 1/2" and 11mm ropes. The other part will wear too. The outer part of the case will come apart. If you bag your rope and use a false crotch your rope will stay cleaner and not wear out the LJ as fast.

The price that seems to be on the table seems to be pretty fair.

I'm not sure when Hubert put out an updated version. This one was new in 2002. The Cam of course is replacable. The other part that frictions against the rope looks like a small matter of removing some inset screws and replacing. Tom would have a better idea. I can post a picture if that would help. As for opinions, I can do better. Contact me and we can aranage for me to send the unit to you. Use if for a few weeks. If you like it, send me a check. If not, send it back.
