Lime Tree Removal

Rupe, good job!

Did you rig the top out - looks kinda skinny, or did you launch it onto the street? Linden 'Launch' style

That expression on your face when you are throwing that chunk out, I know 'that face' well, I have seen it on many a climbers face including my own, I have a special name for 'that face' - 'The Unacceptable face of Arboriculture'

The wind was blowing hard towards the house so no chance of launching anything anywhere. Rigged the top in two pieces just above the yellow rigging block. The smaller piece didn't run very well and I had temporary sense of humour loss! The larger bit ran smooth so no worries.

Very common ailment suffered by even the most patient and good natured treeclimbers.

I use to suffer from this but it was permanent.

Groundies suffered a great deal.

They don't suffer, they get thanked when it goes well and asked how they could improve when it doesn't go so well.

Without them the tree would still be there and I'd have no business.

Thanks for sharing Rupe, Those are some skinny roads. A street tree here in the States...Crane, bucket, huge chipper...wham bam thankyou mam! Was that job done as a two
man operation? "yummie mummies", We all watch em :) Great job site set up also.

Very Nice, Rupe, well done.

I like the 5 hour days myself, they only come in fall/winter around here.

Cheers Rog. I said earlier that it was a no through road, in fact it feeds into a private estate calledd Battledown. We call it "Beverley hills"! very posh! Britney Spears (yes I know that is not posh) and Madonna were apparently both looking at property there. (maddonna now owns an apartment in the next street from me)

So the road feeds a lot of houses but yes it is quite skinny. Hence my argument that whilst your cranes and large chippers are cool, we just wouldn't get away with it.

Three man operation, the third is using the camera.

Plus the friend of mine with the timber tractor/trailer.

As a point of interest I live in the south UK, but we are on the same Latitude as Newfoundland, so, yes, winter working hours are shorter.

In the summer we would have waited for the yummy mummies to go and then got back to work.
