Lightest/Most Comact Climbing Set Up

Not trying to hijack handys op, but I have a similar question. I like to take a short lanyard and a long lanyard in the tree. For the long lanyard I'm thinking of building the lightest, most compact dr t system I can, so that I can keep it in a bag on my belt. What is the smallest diameter, lightest rope any of you would use in such a situation?
I've seen plenty of people hang from 8mm beeline.

I'm super wary of building a a climbing system based on "minimalist principles". Being overly preoccupied with gear weight can lead you astray. You can keep your bike travel kit very light with smart use of the gear you already have.

That's a good way to look at it, smart/efficient use of gear rather than ultralighting gear.

Panniers on a bike are great and compact. I've also been happy with a BOB trailer for bigger/bulkier stuff.

I sure hope she wasn't actually in there for the action....

I have no problem with biking my normal gear to wherever I want to climb. The trouble arises when I'm not necessarily intending on climbing (i.e. have it just in case the opportunity arises) or when I also need to carry a good amount of other gear, for instance if I'm planning an overnight trip.

Thanks for insight, Moss. Especially on using runners in place of a lanyard.

As far as ropes go, the lightest 11mm I've found so far is Edelrid Performance static at 5.3 pounds per 100'. Anyone know of a lighter/better 11mm? (11mm would be nice so I can still use it with a rope runner, and the 10.5s I've found aren't that much lighter)

Once you’re under 5.5, it may not matter, but if it matters to you, chameleon is 5.03 per 100’

My suggestion would be:
-Buckingham cotton-back 4D saddle
-10-12 ft double braid lanyard w/ eye to eye and basic micro-pulley
-120’ double braid (velocity for lightness) w/ eye splice, eye to eye, and hitch-climber pulley set up
-throw line cube set up
- friction saver (sleeve, ring-n-ring, adjustable)

I’m an avid adventure bicyclist as well and I’ve always thought about what I would take on a bike/tree climb trip. This is what I have that I would take:

New Tribe Onyx saddle. Compact but not sacrificing comfort or utility or a rope bridge.
120’ 11m Samson Velocity w/ eye splice on one end.
Rope Wrench setup on one end (not exactly minimalist but long set climbs are so enjoyable!)
Hitch climber setup on the spliced end for use as a long lanyard/second climbing line with a cambium saver tube installed
foot ascender and compact diy knee ascender.
Quickie or screw link for canopy anchor.
and maybe a basic short lanyard or a sling.
