lifting failed willow from water

This morning we removed a willow that failed into a creek. We used a 120ton crane to drag it over and hoist it out.

Boom full extended to 51 meters over the creek. capacity 2000kg at that point. Hooked the willow, cut it loose from stump and the crane dragged it towards him. Then lifted out. The weight out the water was 5000kg. Towmorrow our chip crew passes by with the vermeer bc2000xl and will clean up.

Funny thing, i was only there to make some pics... (bad foggy weather that early :(

But i needed to cut the willow myself as our feller drowned his MS660 with all that splashing water. /forum/images/graemlins/9lame.gif

He gets quiet easy aggitated that bloke /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif The water was trown upwards higher as he is himself /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif and he got seriously wet.... A no brainer, how hard to get the job done?

So he peddeld back to our shore and i got over with a 088 and got it cut in 2 minutes, clean and dry.

The truck is only there for the crane counterweights and outrigger plates.

with the crane in and out a 2 hour job.

I'm guessing leaving it in the lake woulda frigged something up, somehow.
Leaving it in woulda made a nice fishing hole, though!

Its crowdy here, privat tree isnt allowed in public water ;)

Maybe we are a bit tidy, i cant help it. I know we sink a lot of stuff to for recreational fishing/diving.... old boats, concrete caissons and rocks etc. are located in our estuarium to attrack fish, lobster and crabs etc...
