licensing

Where do you normally go to find out about licensing and such for this line of work? Mainly the licensing for fertilizations and the treatments of pests?

In Florida you need a limited landscape license to spray imidicloprid or cambistat, the fines are insane, they have cracked down due to the ineptitude of landscaper's putting down fertilizer, and leaching into our waterways..

Yeah I contacted the agriculture dept. for Michigan and they said I would only need a license if I was going to apply anything that kills something. She said fertalizers and things of that nature are fine. And it is pretty dificult to get licensed here if you havent ever worked with a company that has done it before. But they are just trying to protect the enviornment which I will not complain about.

I'm in Illinos, and just started looking into this. I guess the Illinois Department of Agriculture issues an applicators license, which you go through the University of Illinois for. Sounds like a pain, but hubby and I are going to sign up!

I also just signed up for my Certified Arborist workshop. When hubby took it a couple years ago, I helped him study so much I could have passed the test to, and he's been on me ever since!
