My sis in law is director of an aids program for Africa (mostly working with children (I believe). My brother has worked with habitat for humanity (where he met his wife mentioned above) and Samaritan' Purse for most of his life. I, and my family have participated in multiple missions trips through out the years...not trips of preaching, but trips where we build houses etc, and tried to help teach trades etc.

Have you done similar things?

I agree, hence why I haven't mentioned it till now. Since it has been said/asked a couple times, I figured I'd give some generalities. I'm not bragging or seeking praise for what I've done (or my family, church etc have done). Love it or hate it...doesn't matter to me.

Here is the skinny, you seem to have a good tree businees that is sucsessful and you seem like a decent person. Cant you see how it appears that you are talking down to people and as an earlier post suggested " holier than thou" Whats so hard to understand about other people having a different opinion? Even if you cant wrap your mind around it. We should be grafeful how fortunate we are and let people live it how they want without other peoples interference. People do bad things across the boards, thats not for us to sort out. I say this with respect and sincerity, I am fine with your opinion, be fine with mine and lets stop hollering into the wind.

I didn't come on here saying I done this and that. I was asked about whether I have adopted or helped kids. I was asked what pro-lifer do according to adoption etc. So should I not answered the question?

Maybe I shouldn't have asked what he has done to those questions...I would agree to error in that. By asking that, after I said what I've done/seen, makes it appear as me saying I'm holier than thou.

So if you saying we shouldn't interfere, and let them do bad things (not sort it out). So you are in favor of no laws? You in favor of letting people be in poverty, poor education etc? You in favor of letting a friend, or anyone, make a mistake that might hurt them? Do you force your employees to follow osha/ansi rules, if they don't want to? All that is interfering.

I'm not saying you have to help them. If fact I'm pretty much against federal social care programs...forcing tax payers to help others. I think humans should help other humans directly, and love and respect all humans no matter age (0-200 in age), skin color, religion etc without being forced and governed into it
 
I am definately in favor of laws. Laws should be inacted to prevent people from doing things that effect other people. I am not in favor of the laws that prevent people from making bad decisins that only effect them. This is the root of the whole debate not whether killing innocent people is wrong. Someone having an abortion doesnt effect you at all, only in your mind. You disagree and think its terrible and against your beliefs, I get that. I dont like laws that protect us from ourselves. I like to rock climb without a rope and I dont want anyone to tell me I cant. They can express concern but thats all. I believe in helping people as much as necesary but it is up to them to decide how to use that help.

I agree with everything you said.

Where we disagree is in these lines

Abortion does not effect me, but it does effect someone, other then the person making the choice. I am fighting for that other person, because they can't voice it themselves. So yes I'm OK with a law that prevents someone from hurting another, at all times, not just when they can cry about it.

Must be Newson's fault, too.

Additional poor leadership by LA mayor and fire chief.

Sad out fellow Americans have to go through this.

California gets almost all of its rain in the winter and we have now entered a time when we are experiencing deadly fires in the dead of winter. Do you reckon our addiction to fossil fuel has anything to with the fact that Cali is currently drier than a popcorn fart? Do you reckon it has anything to do with the severity of the fires the west has been experiencing for the last decade or so?

Peter Gleick, a hydroclimatologist and senior fellow of the Oakland-based Pacific Institute, said Trump’s comments attempting to link California water policy with the water-supply problems facing firefighters in Southern California were “blatantly false, irresponsible and politically self-serving.”

“There is no water shortage in Southern California — the state’s reservoirs are all at, or above, levels normally expected for this time of year. The problem with water supply for the fires is entirely the result of the massive immediate demands for firefighting water, broken or damaged pipes and pumps, and homeowners leaving hoses and sprinklers running in hopes of saving property.”

Fact check: Why is Trump blaming the LA fires on Newsom’s water policies?

“Governor Gavin Newscum refused to sign the water restoration declaration put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water, from excess rain and snow melt from the North, to flow daily into many parts of California, including the areas that are currently burning in a virtually apocalyptic way,” Trump wrote today on his social media site Truth Social.

Newsom’s office responded with a sharp rebuke and a reality check.

“There is no such document as the water restoration declaration – that is pure fiction,” Newsom communications director Izzy Gardon said in a written statement.

Mark Gold, water scarcity director for the Natural Resources Defense Council and a board member of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, said Trump’s comments do not reflect California’s complex water supply systems and just fan flames of political discontent.

“Tying Bay-Delta management into devastating wildfires that have cost people’s lives and homes is nothing short of irresponsible, and it’s happening at a time when the Metropolitan Water District has the most water stored in its system in the history of the agency,” he said.

Trump appeared to be referring to water imported south from the Bay-Delta, fed by Northern California rivers and snowmelt. But most Los Angeles water does not come from Northern California.

Climate has always been changing.. Variability in the sun's output, ocean currents, as well as volcanic erruptions have kepth the climate changing forever. take for example the little ice age (1,300-1,850 AD) that effectively ended the cathedral building era in europe. Historically warmer periods have been periods of prosperity.

at least until a few weeks google's AI generated blurb at the top of the page claimed that global temperatures have rising 1.2°-1.5° since the 1850

1850 just so happens to be the end of the little ice age, which was the coldest peroid in the last 8,000 years... so climate alarmists have arbitratily picked 1850 as the place to claim that carbon dioxide is causing global warming... oil wasn't discovered in PA until 1869... how much oil were they burning in 1851?


Then of course there are the climategate emails , which showed the top climate scientists conspiring to subvert science, as the top scientists agreeing to prevent contrarian scientists from getting their research published by collectively refusing to peer review those articles, and substituting tree ring data for ice core data when the data did not fit the manmade hypothesis. That's not science.... That's prpaganda.. You can imagine all their fat grants and acalades would dry up if they admitted that climate change is a natural phenomenon that we can do nothing to prevent.

Bottom line is climate histeria is manmade, and allows the ruling elites to tax air... they know you wouldn't be stupid enough to pay tax for breathing in, so they figured out a way to charge you for breathing out.. are you that stupid?
