Lever for blocking down logs

Not sure if you have seen it, but watch Reg's video about undermining the center of gravity with a deep face cut. That can make all the difference in the world. We work against gravity so often, why not get it to help out when possible.

Make sure you watch for the lean it sucks when it pinches your saw and you have to fight it.

Found a straight up 3 foot wrecking bar in the bottom drawer of my toolbox for up in the tree. I didn't even know i had it. Changed my life.

I have a 6 foot st. angelo bar in the truck for use on the ground. It's awesome. You can use it as a pry bar for tipping things over but it's also the best tool i've ever used for chipping ice and prying rocks/concrete chunks out of a stump before grinding. I never knew i would find so many uses for the same 40 bucks.

I use the Husqvarna felling bar. I havent used it much aloft but its good for tipping over little pecker poles and popping stumps off the cut. Its a little to short for use as a cant hook on bigger wood but hey, its only the size of a pair of loppers so it doesnt take up a lot of room on the truck.

I have never used it, but this might help.

I have this and often don't get it out. The three saws I have used it with are a 021, 391, and 660. It is actually thicker than the kerf on the 021 so you have to really hammer it in there (with my hand) on the 660 it is narrower than the kerf and the saw still gets pinched even with the slider all the way in the cut. It actually pares really well with the 391, although I'd never use it for pieces as long as what Reg was cutting, maybe 3 foot tall sections. I'd think anything of decent length you would want to make sure it flipped away from you as he did, instead of pushing it off the spar.

Just realized how old this thread was, but the info on the slider may still be good for someone. Surely I'm not the only one who sits around on Sunday mornings and scrolls through this site.

i always found the super-temper and narrow lever lip design of a
semi-trailer curved 2.5 ft. tire changing spoon to be best solution:
KEN33220.jpg

can slip pipe over end if needed for more leverage (used a lot on ground too/very many uses) ;
>>but DON'T pinch any skin etc. in the sliding pipe..
.
round end can also be used as hammer, to pound in wedge/hold before using as lever again etc.
paint or tape brightly,
>>i liked triple choked, skinny sling or cord to hold to snap for belt,
>>very slippery, adding tape from sling to spoon helpful!

For large pieces I have inserted the fiberglass rods for marking snow plowing. Thre or four make a nice set of rollers and an easier push on short, wide pieces.
Wood dows work as well, but there always seemed to be a plethora of driveway markers around
