Last tree job of the year

Great shot.

Gotta love it when your equipment makes work disappear like magic. What are you going to do with those big tulip logs?

Failed a decent leader onto the roof of the house , was still attached to the trunk when I rolled up on site.

it was a wee bit close to the house , ended up having to cross cut the rounds on top of the stem into threes so I could lob them into the small garden bed running along the house before it dropped down into the driveway . thankfully didn't lose one into the neighbours as the boundary fence had been removed before the xmas break .
these Eucs (citridora ) are fairly prone to limb shedding in hot and windy conditions .

Mark , by chance I was able to snap you these pics of a fairly fresh citridora limb failure at a local shopping centre car park.

it failed as per norm right at the collar join and nothing in the limb to indicate pest disease or previous wound.
just heat and some strong winds then a random limb shedding occurs.
once had a citridora do this while putting a throw bag in with the boss standing next to me all of a sudden pow - dropped a limb right down next to us.

Last job of 2015 there was an owl who showed up (pun intended). Didn't seem to mind the noise.

There's a documentary on Netflix about owls that's amazing... especially when they used a high-end DAW to record their flight compared to other birds (I think they used a dove or something) and the recording equipment could barely pick up the noise from the owl's wings. The birds were flying right over the studio condenser mic. Just a great documentary... I'll look for the listing and report back on the title.
