Lanyard Position On Harness

I sometimes route my lanyard over a limb and then clip it on itself. If i need to use the full length of the lanyard to reach the limb this can be my only way to be tied in twice. Never realized this was a violation of Z133. Does anyone else do this? Is there a problem with it besides being in an awkward position in the case of a slip/fall?

You'd want to avoid the carabiner contacting the stem you've attached to. See Taylor Hamel's video regarding the versatility and use of the CE Lanyard. He demonstrates what I think you are describing. If I understand you correctly, you'd want to remove the prusik (adjuster) side of the lanyard from a side saddle attachment point and relocate it to your center bridge attachment.

The only SHALL NOT I read is applied to connecting both ends of a lanyard to the same side D, it may also be implied that one SHOULD NOT attach to separate D's on the same side of the saddle. I interpret the rest to say that side to side, side to center and center to center attachment are acceptable.
