[ QUOTE ]
From my understanding these arent even in the US yet....?

They're here. Ordered some to check out. Does remind me of the Ropeman.

Wakas are badass, btw.

Just got some new info on these. the first batch that is here now has a ce, meaning its approved for use in europe etc. they do NOT have a kn stamp, YET. the next batch, coming in September sometime will have a kn stamp. Kong says they will be rated at 22 or 23 kn. I am awaiting a defininitive answer and will let you guys know when I hear more.

First impression in person: Sweet design. Very small. I'd be surprised if the rating is as high as 23kN, but who knows on that sort of thing...

Also -- it looks like a duck.

I got word from Kong today that they will only be stamped with CE and ANSI rating approvals NO kn. They said it will be stamped like the Petzl Micrograbs are stamped, without kn ratings. He also said there *should* be some language in the manual about kn ratings....?

Hope this helps!

the reason i ask is that i'm thinking of using it as an adjuster for my homemade rope guide

Hey Jeff,

I've just gone through the little manual and read all 13 languages (though i did struggle with Greek) and NO mention of an actual load rating.

Only that it is tested to meet CE 89/686/EEC.

It does say:
Danger: "DUCK" is neither a positioning device nor a fall arrester.

So i guess it's intended use is more so like an ascender for progress capture of rope or slings.
