In the past I have gotten by with a distel and a pantin.
I can footlock but don't use this method as often as I should.
I have had the Kong for awhile but haven't bothered using it much until now.
I can speed up my ascent considerably with a handled ascender and plan on using the Kong more on single and doubled rope.
I'll feel more at ease backing up the Kong with a hitch in case the cam fails but I want a quick method to detach it and can't find anything that will fit it other than a simple snap.
I can abandon the Kong and the Kong back up hitch with one carabiner and bail out on the distel if need be.
It seems to work well so far.
