Haven't heard the term 'circus bowline' before this thread. Is that a 'doubled bowline', a bowline tied with a doubled part of line? Basically tied with a bight, but not a 'bowline on a bight--the bight forms the hole, then the end of the bight goes out of the hole, around the tree, and back in the hole? 'Circus bowline' because it forms three rings?
