Hey folks, just posting a shameless plug for the second generation production run of the KKs. There have been a couple developmental small batch runs in between and I have a pair from the latest of those. I'm really liking these spikes. If you have any questions shoot them over.

I'll post a full review this week. Got to run off to work a bit right now before I hit the Harry Potter escape room this evening with my boy, hehe...

The kickstarter campaign just made its minimum of 60K with 116 people ordering, so it looks like it is a go. 37 more days to order up, fellas! After that I don't want to hear any bitching about your spikes. ;)

Spent 4 hours in my kk2s on Wednesday, swinging limbs off a roof from a 3-spar 20" laurel oak into narrow access. Used the ascender for initial ascent, to do fine positioning adjustments without having to dink around with lanyard and spikes, and then to ascend back to my rigging point to pop tops. Having the ascender on the stirrup is so nice because it doesn't dig in to my ankle at all. The locking feature works like a dream too. The spikes are sharp and narrow, making them prone to ripping out. As I get used to them, I apply less force more precisely and find myself getting along with the spikes more and more.

I'm noticing that the velcro straps catch my speedline slings, so I have to daisy chain them - which I should do anyways to keep from stepping through them, catching on branches, or getting one caught in the foot ascender.

I often felt agitated at the end of removals with my old spikes because the shank dug into my shins. None of that with these. I barely think about them.
