Kalimba Courant splicing

Kalimba Courant, splice with Samson‘instructions.
The Part After the eye is too narrow. I follow the instructions and tapered the cover with 5 pairs. I wanted to tapered only 3 pairs, but I could not manage the crossover. Any recommandations? (except the boring: ‘’Follow the manufacturer’s instructions…’’ as you can imagine if they were given I would not lose time and rope )

Some better pics might help, as that looks fine from here. Ever get anything tested, formally or informally?

Did you want to taper less on the cover because the core is reduced, the eye looks very thin? Not sure what you mean when you couldn’t manage the crossover, too big to milk the cover back over? Did the final bury milk too easily making you think it is too thin? Sorry for the questions, I’ve haven’t tried to splice this rope before.

Hi, Thank you. The method of 16 Strand parallel Core don’t work. So I used the Drenaline splicing instructions and it’s Fine. The only negative Point is that it doesn’t come through the zigzag.

If your splice above was thinner than the rope, that means the cover is less than 50% of the rope, maybe leaving some of the twisted strands inside the cover tail would correct it.
