uh hi... i've been reading these boards for a few days... figured I should join... been climbing for a company in ny for about ten months now. I climbed about twice in my life and
showed up at this tree company saying I knew how. Really didn't know a thing but they taught me and now I don't quite suck as much as I once did. Looking forward to the advice of those who post here. Peace. - Luke

I'm originally from NY... long island... worked for a tree company in Virginia... (a company being me and one other guy.)... moved back up here and got a job about 50 mi. north of NYC. I think I've caught up fairly quick since I started. Footlocking is no problem and I've experimented with a variety of gear, various types of friction hitches etc. Still a bit uncomfortable on spikes but I've done three fairly large removals so far and one where everything had to be rigged out of the tree. I'm lucky enough to work at a place with safe and professional climbers so I think I'm off to a good start. Thanks for the welcome.
